Read in an extra-credit assignment describing consistency and content problems out there in the world:
"In Master and Commander, when Jack makes his lesser of two weevils pun, the insects in question are actually a pair of mealworms. Why they didn't use actual weevils, I'm not sure. Maybe they wanted something that would stay in place long enough to get the shot. Still, there's a big difference between weevils and mealworms. It really kind of throws the joke off."
I adore teaching moments that reveal to me my students' idiosyncratic worldviews.
